Feb-YOU-wary
It’s becoming a regular. Thrift shopping has been regularly a part of my months now and how could I not veer away, my money is worth every item that I buy. Just today I submitted our final thesis proposal and no one could really imagine how stressed I am. I was in charge of the proof reading and editing. I stayed up until 3am and woke up 5am. Imagine the lack of sleep. I was really stressed and low in energy. Everything though just went away when I bumped into my good gay friend Cheska and accompanied me during my thrift shopping cravings. For the whole month though, here’s what I was able to add to my collection. Some new styles and probably some better goodies this time.
I was able to snatch these items all at the same time! I was not able to visit any store during the first three weeks of the month and just before it ended I was able to have these all at once. I tried buying more tops so that I could survive those lazy days and hassle moments ahead. (1) Cosmic printed long top (2) Studded loose top (3) 3-toned shirt (4) white seater-ish knitted-ish top. (I’m poor with these types of terms. Haha.)
I wanted to have more dresses and long sleeves so I decided to hunt for them and here are some treasures. I am also in search for more corporate attires for the upcoming OJT that I will have and the defense and seminars in school. :s (5) satin empire cut dress (6) glittered 3-tone long top (7) studded long sleeves (8) pastel colored longsleeved dress with side pockets
And my favorite, a new pair of skinny jeans! I love the color and faded jeans is one of the things I covet. Just to give you an idea of how I was able to save by buying these, all of these amount to just more or less Php400-500. Everything in total. Such a good bargain!
Been eyeing on some belts too which can give more life to a dull look! I just can’t take off the smile on my face after seeing sale items on the rack. They were all good and it’s as if they were there to liven me up after the tiresome hell week that I had. This has always been a perfect me-time for me. Always. At least this is a healthy way of de-stressing myself and a therapeutic activity as well. Ja-NEW-uary
First month of the year. Fresh start. New beginning and the end is still far. It’s very fast though that January has ended in a blink of an eye and here we are again at the month of hearts. Phew. I cannot keep up! Here’s some of my tidbits of my January. Just a little of something. :)
(1) I said something about my room re-designing. I had all the new stuff to put on my room but since I am the queen of laxity, it did not happen. My mom tolerated my desire for animal prints again and gave me some new boxes so have somewhere I can put my school readings on.
This where I also place my bags and I can see that it is not enough. We plan to buy more but the problem now is that my room will get more crowded. How to? How to? (2) My favorite past time is to visit my favorite place in the world! Thrift shops! Again, I am pleased to present my self as a solid advocate of ukay-ukay since it where you get all the best in the world! I got two new sheers and 2 new animal prints! Satisfaction much I tell you. But now, I prevent myself from going there since I really want to save! The agony. :( I got some new accessories too!
A tragic thing happened too. My favorite everyday eye shadow palette broke. :( I wish I could still spot something as of good quality as this in Max Factor stores or somewhere else. :(
My new stress reliever…nail arts! Again, animal print! Hee! ;)
Eww! My ugly toes! Please look at the nail color instead. :p (3) Ginno and I is having our 18th monthsary this first day of February. Some days before, we had a fight and he gave me this cute cellphone charm still from Korea. He knows I love everything Korean.
He told me that he’s been hoarding a lot of goodies so that he will not run out of peace offerings to give me if ever we will have fights again. I do not know if that is a good thing since we are talking about fights here. Haha. It was sweet and when he said sorry, I just said…Yup! It’s okay. We get better and better in dealing with fights and it’s something that keeps us going. I love you Pupi! ;) (4) Before we also ended the month, we attended the Neocentennial Celebration of our university…University of Sto. Tomas! We missed the fireworks and being a sucker for fireworks, you will not be able to imagine the sadness that I felt that time. They said that it was the most wonderful pyromusical display that UST ever had. :( Anyway, I had a great time with Ginno. I always will. :) So much for now. I hope the next month would be much better and it is the Month of Hearts! Let’s see what happens. Remember that make every month, every day as Valentine’s day. All you have to do is share love like there’s no tomorrow. Love like Jesus! :D Chic in Sheer
It actually takes a lot of courage for me to wear something sheer since I do not have much confidence yet for that but then I tried and thought that I could have something different in my closet. The yellow vintage tee was a real catch since it was very cheap and indeed my first ever sheer top ever! The shoes was from a Christmas bazaar here in Marikina. Marikina is known for our footwear and other quality products mostly bags and belts. D&T is a brand which also creates Dockers and Sebago shoes. My brother bought awesome loafers for a good price. To tell you, it was a good smelling leather on a good smelling price! :)
I am in a hunt for Aztecs designs now so I happen to stumble to these two instead.
In addition to my animal print collection, I got this cardigan and was very elated to know that it is on sale! I grabbed it right away! My favorite thrift store is on sale now so I get more and more excited every week to take home more goodies!
I never got this hooked up with shopping. Sometimes I vow to myself to not shop in the mall again since I get more of my money’s value when I shop in thrift shops. Patience is really a virtue for me. I plan to share and promote thrift stores more therefore, I will post more regularly about my ventures there. Spot my new tab! :) UKAY FINDS! November Acquisitions.
I promised myself to save for my desired phone but then again, my hands become itchy whenever I get to see something good and by something good, I mean cheap yet incredible stuffs. Before the month ends, here are some of the goodies that made me sin.
I have been a self-confessed animal print lover at the moment. Anything related to it catches my eyes. My mom bought me the pink and black zebra comforter and it is timely since I plan to redesign my room by the Christmas break. I also got the leopard top from Surplus and my mom also bought me the foldable Longchamp inspired bag. She already got it…I love animals prints next to color purple and pigs. :)
ANIMAL PRINTS. ANIMAL PRINTS. Why so pretty? But I am pro animal rights so yeah. :) You know what I mean. :)
I am also a slave of Ukay-ukay or thrift shops. I just get so hyped when I enter those shops and can’t stop searching for something that is worthy of my money. I love cardigans. I am a little conservative so I love putting on cardigans over my sleeveless tops. I spotted these two treasures for a very cheap price. When I say cheap, I mean it. The gray one caught my attention because of the evident comeback of crochet and the other symmetrical cardigan is from G2000 and it seems new. I was very satisfied when I left the store.
Next to it, I realized I bought two skirts with no particular reason. The blue skirt is from the the online store of my friend (Glamstore Collections), it’s blue metallic lining was awesome and the black bodycon skirt is also from a thrift shop. I was searching for the exact skirt because I was supposed to be attending a party then I saw the piece and immediately grabbed it. It was really a good timing for me. The price is as good as the pieces too.
I always love shopping since it is one of my way to get rid of the stress and other bothering stuffs that I have in mind. I also believe that you do not have to spend a lot just to get the good and the beautiful things. I am a very particular of where to spend my money so that I can get the most out of it. Here is one stingy girl and I don’t see anything wrong with it. :)
Like what I said, I love pigs and my mother bought me another comforter with cute pigs. My mom got more love points from me for being very thoughtful. Now the problem is, what to use for my room redesigning? Hee. ;) Remember, when buying things, use your money well. :) I am sort of depressed right now so being the growing hobby that I have, I went to a nearby thrift shop. If only I had a lot of money, I’ll be purchasing more than these. I got paint splats gray tank top for about 80 pesos, polka dot lacey blue short sleeved cardigan and light blue denim shorts for both a hundred pesos. I’ve been becoming obsessed with Ukay-ukay shopping because of the surprising cheap finds that you can spot. You only have to have the patience and a keen eye to spot the worthy apparels to take home. Jai(c) |
